The short version. We pay for two things: qualified views and qualified subscribers. A qualified view is a view the platform itself counts. A qualified subscriber is a household that installs RootLock through your code or link, subscribes, and is still paying after their free trial and any other promotion ends. A free trial that never converts pays nothing.
Everything below is the full agreement. The numbers in it are the numbers in your dashboard.
This Creator Program Agreement (the “Agreement”) governs the RootLock Creator Program (the “Program”), operated by Apexium Marketing LLC (“RootLock,” “we,” “us”). By checking the acceptance box in the RootLock Creator Hub, you (“you,” the “Creator”) agree to this Agreement, to the RootLock Terms of Service, and to the RootLock Privacy Policy. We record the version you accepted and the date and time you accepted it.
1. Eligibility and status
You must be at least 18 years old and able to receive payments in U.S. dollars. Applying does not guarantee acceptance; we review each application and may accept, decline, suspend, or remove any creator at our discretion. You are an independent contractor. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship, and you may not represent yourself as an employee or spokesperson of RootLock or Apexium Marketing LLC.
2. What we pay for
The Program pays on exactly two things. Nothing else in the Program earns money.

The rates in effect at any moment are the rates shown in your dashboard, and those are the rates that govern.
3. Qualified views
A qualified view is a view of your RootLock video as counted by the platform the video is posted on, using that platform’s own definition of a view — on TikTok, a view as TikTok counts and reports it; on Instagram, YouTube, or any other platform, that platform’s own view metric for that video format.
Qualified views are paid at the per-1,000 rate shown in your dashboard. The standard rate is $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views. We may raise the rate for a particular campaign, creator, or period, up to $3.00 per 1,000. A raised rate applies only to views verified while it is in effect. Rate changes are never applied retroactively to amounts already credited, in either direction.
Views become payable only when we verify them. We verify by reading the public view counter on the posted video, and our verification is final. Any view count you enter yourself in the dashboard is used to show you an estimate of what a video may be worth; it is not a payable figure and does not obligate us to pay anything.
Views on a video that is deleted, hidden, set to private, or removed by the platform before we verify it are not payable. Views credited once are not credited again if you repost the same video.
4. Qualified subscribers
A qualified subscriber is a household that installs RootLock using your referral code or your referral link, starts a paid RootLock subscription, and is still on a paid subscription at standard price after every promotional period on that account has ended — including the 14-day free trial and any discount, credit, extended trial, or other offer applied to that account.
Put plainly: if someone starts the 14-day free trial and cancels before it converts, you earn nothing for them. If they stay past the trial and pay standard price, they are qualified and you earn the commission.
Commission is one time per household. It is credited once, on the household’s first qualifying conversion, at $3.50 for a month-to-month plan or $10.00 for an annual plan, based on the plan active at the moment the household qualifies. Renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and later billing periods on that same household do not generate additional commission. If a household is attributed to more than one creator, the commission is credited to the code or link the household actually used to install.
Attribution requires the household to use your code or link. We cannot credit installs we cannot attribute, and we do not pay for self-referrals, referrals to members of your own household, or accounts created to trigger a commission.
5. Content and conduct
Videos submitted to the Program must be created by you, must feature RootLock truthfully, and must comply with the rules of the platform they are posted on. You may not:
- make claims about RootLock’s features, pricing, or capabilities that are not accurate;
- use bots, purchased views, engagement pods, view farms, click farms, incentivized installs, or any other artificial inflation of views, engagement, installs, or subscriptions;
- bid on RootLock or Apexium Marketing brand terms in paid search, or run paid ads that impersonate RootLock;
- target, sexualize, or exploit minors, or feature a child in a way that would embarrass or endanger them;
- post content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or unlawful, or that misrepresents another person.
We may reject any submission and remove any creator for content or conduct we reasonably consider harmful to the RootLock brand.
6. FTC disclosure — required
Because you are compensated for this content, U.S. law (FTC Endorsement Guides, 16 CFR Part 255) requires you to clearly disclose the material connection in every video and caption — for example #ad, #sponsored, or the platform’s built-in paid-partnership label. Submissions without proper disclosure will be rejected and are not payable.
7. Payouts
Earnings accumulate in your balance as they are credited. You may request a payout once your available balance is at least $100.00. Payouts are sent in U.S. dollars to the payout method you provide (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle); keeping those details accurate is your responsibility, and we are not liable for funds sent to a payout handle you gave us incorrectly. We aim to send payouts within 7 business days of an approved request.
8. Reversals and clawbacks
We may reverse an amount already credited to your balance if the subscription it was based on is refunded, charged back, or cancelled within 30 days of the credit; if the credit was the result of a mistake on our side; or if we determine that views, installs, or subscriptions were artificially inflated or otherwise obtained in breach of this Agreement. A reversal appears in your ledger as a negative adjustment. If a reversal exceeds your balance, the balance may go negative and future earnings apply against it first.
9. Taxes
You are responsible for your own taxes. For U.S. creators, if your payments reach the IRS reporting threshold in a calendar year, we will request a completed Form W-9 before further payouts and will issue a Form 1099 as required by law.
10. License to your content
You keep ownership of your content. By submitting a video to the Program you grant RootLock a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to share, embed, repost, and reuse that video — including in RootLock’s own marketing and paid ads — with attribution to your handle. This license applies to content you created while in the Program and survives the end of your participation.
11. Termination
You may leave the Program at any time by emailing creators@rootlock.app. If you leave voluntarily, we will pay out any verified balance above zero within 30 days, whether or not it has reached the $100.00 minimum. If your account is terminated for fraud or for a material breach of this Agreement, amounts attributable to that breach are forfeited.
12. Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement. When we make a material change we publish a new version here with a new version number and effective date, and we will ask you to accept the new version in the Creator Hub before you can submit new videos or request a payout. Amounts already credited to your balance are governed by the version that was in effect when they were credited.
13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Program is provided as is. We do not guarantee any level of views, installs, subscriptions, or earnings, and nothing in this Agreement or in the Creator Hub is a promise of income. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of the Program is limited to the amounts credited to your balance in the 90 days before the claim arose.
14. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Disputes arising from it will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Mexico, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
